First Congressional Church | Front & Side Porch

Project Details

Value: $56,600

Completion Date: 2025

Project Overview:

The First Congregational Church of Spencerport partnered with Loyal 9 Development to design and construct two new entry porches at its historic 55 Church Street location. The work included a full replacement of the front and side stoop systems, providing safer, longer-lasting access while complementing the architectural character of the building.

Key Features:

Front Porch Replacement:

  • The original concrete stoop was removed and replaced with a new wood-framed porch on concrete footings.

  • The new structure features composite decking for durability, vinyl-wrapped posts and railings, and painted trim to match the church’s exterior.

  • A new step system with aluminum handrails was installed for safe and accessible entry.

Side Porch Construction:

  • A matching side porch was built to serve the secondary entrance, with the same attention to finish and code compliance.

  • Treated framing, composite surface materials, and decorative lattice skirting complete the structure’s visual appeal and longevity.

Finish Work:

  • Both porches were painted and trimmed to align with the building’s original detailing.

  • Final installation included low-maintenance materials for long-term durability and seasonal resilience.

Execution:

Loyal 9 Development delivered a clean and functional upgrade that enhances the usability and appearance of this longstanding community landmark. The new porches improve accessibility and reinforce the welcoming presence of the church, all while respecting the historical context of the property.
